My dog has severe fleas. Does he need a vet for professional help?

My dog has really bad fleas, to the point where I can't groom himself because I know he needs a professional to get them all off. Do you recommend if i take him to a vet to get groomed and fixed p?

I would recommend a good flea and tick prevention. This will help get rid of the fleas. If he is that severe I would consider taking him to a veterinarian to make sure he does not have a skin infection. They may be able to give him something to help with the itch also. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
