My dog has anxiety. Should I use CBD oil? What do vets advise?

Does CBD oil really benefit a dog with bad anxiety? In your opinion, should I try it for Oscar? I asked my vet and she didn't say much about it, she said it's really just for dogs with chronic pain. I know it helps with more than that. What would it do for Oscar? Would it really help him? Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund | Male | neutered | 6 years and 9 months old | 16 lbs

As of yet, we have very little research on CBD oil in veterinary patients, so we cannot make any recommendations one way or the other about this product - we do not know what an appropriate dose might be, and if there are any potential health concerns or drug interactions in dogs. In addition, because it's a schedule 1 drug, it's illegal for us to prescribe or recommend. That's would be why your vet didn't say much about it. There are medications that can work for dogs like Oscar with anxiety, and I would speak to her about that. Best of luck.
