Can an indoor cat with a Seresto collar still get fleas?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 11 lbs

I have a cat and I was wondering, even though she is wearing the seresto collar, is it possible for her to still get fleas? She’s also an indoor cat

There is always a low percentage of pets that can still get fleas after starting any flea medication. Also just know that the flea has to come in contact with the product in order to die, so you may see a few dead fleas on her, which is normal. However, with all that said, the risk of her getting fleas is very low while she is actively on flea medication and kept inside.
