My cat is hungry but won't eat, hides, and seems sick. What's wrong?

my cat usually eats 2 cans food a day, he was 15 lbs. Now, he is still hungry, but, I put his favorite food in front of him and he licks once or twice and walks away, still hungry. sleeps in hidey hole, does not come out much at all. nose dry. Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 8 years and 11 months old | 15 lbs

This is concerning and it could be a sign that Basey has a medical problem causing a decrease in appetite. Dental disease, kidney disease, or gastrointestinal problems like IBD or pancreatitis could cause a decrease in appetite. I'd recommend having your vet examine him - they might recommend checking some blood work to start.
