Why did my cat die suddenly with leg paralysis and vomiting?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Female | spayed | 7 years and 1 month old | 22.8 lbs

My cat was extremely overweight (but losing), seemed to be in alot of pain with paralysis of her hind legs, vomiting, panting and drooling and start to finish, died within maybe 30 to 40 minutes. Threw a clot or effexor poisening?

Hi, sorry to hear that Bug passed away so suddenly. My main guess would be that she possibly had an aortic thromboembolism, sadly this is a very common feline emergency and it is correlated to an underlying heart disease. Sending you deepest sympathy from the other side of the pond.
