My dog ate chicken packaging paper/plastic. What should I do?

My German shepherd ate the piece of plastic/paper that chicken lays on on top of the styrofoam platter, will she be okay?

It could be a problem. If that paper happens to get waded in just the wrong way then it could cause an intestinal obstruction. Monitor Scout very closely for vomiting, not eating well or having decreased energy levels. Keep in mind that the clinical signs for intestinal obstruction can vary between pets. Additionally, the paper contains bacteria from the raw chicken and this can also cause similar signs to an obstruction. If you see any potential signs of illness I recommend to have Scout examined immediately. An x-ray can help to determine if a potential obstruction is present. Be checking the stool daily for passage of the paper so you know it is clear. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
