My dog is very distressed after possible poisoning, what should I do?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 9 months old | 90 lbs

No wmergency vel available. You are my only hope. My other Rott died poisoned with anticoagulants Wednesday evening. The other got Vit K 20 vials/day since to treat possible exposure. Now she is very agitated, shakes head and stays away from me, has severe dyspnea and warm nose. She drank some water and pooped indoors which she never did. Looks severely distressed and avoids me. I am a MD. What can I do?

My suggestion would be to check her temperature if you have a thermometer. I wonder if this be unrelated with the toxin exposure. She has had the antidote for the rodenticide toxicity ( vit k )so she should be covered ! If you are worried you can always contact the animal poison control (888) 426-4435 their advice is priceless !
