My puppy has a stomach lump or abscess. What to do without a vet?

One of my puppies almost 3 weeks old has this lump or abscess on her stomach and I'm not sure what to do or if I can do anything and I don't have the money to go to a vet right now

Unfortunately, Spot really should be seen by a veterinarian. If it is an abscess, that is one serious infection that needs to be addressed. It could also be a severe hernia. The swelling may be caused by loops of bowel that have slipped through a defect in the muscle wall. This will require surgery to repair. If left untreated, it is possible the bowel could become twisted or strangulated which would be an emergency and potentially life threatening.

    This looks like a severe abscess which may have spread to her blood given the severity of the symptoms you describe. She requires urgent veterinary attention and may require intravenous antibiotics and possibly surgical cleaning of the wound

Hello my Chihuahua cross westie puppy is 21 weeks old and she has this pus filled spot on her belly by her nipple it doesn't seem to affect her but I'm concerned
This should be examined by a vet . If this is near the belly button it could be an umbilical abscess which can easily affect the liver. Any other abscess can cause sepsis if it is not treated. Please have a veterinarian examine her. Abscesses are usually lanced and flushed, and your puppy may need antibiotics.

My dog has a lump on her stomach.
This lump/growth should be ideally examined by your veterinarian to have a definitive diagnosis. Your vet will examine it and possibly perform with an FNA (fine needle aspiration) or a biopsy. Differentials would include skin cyst, infections or benign or malignant type of tumors. I have recently just found a lump on my dogs stomach and would like to know what it could and if I should be worried
I am sorry to hear about your concern for Mia! A photo may help give us a little more information about what could be going on with her. A lump could be something like an abscess or site of infection, a hernia (a small hole in the muscle wall of the abdomen where internal structures or fat may poke through), or a mass (we can have benign masses/tumors such as lipomas that are just fat and not a health concern and we can have masses/tumors that are malignant and can spread and require removal). I would recommend taking her in for your vet to examine the area. They may recommend what is called a "needle aspirate" where a small needle is inserted into the mass to collect cells to help determine the cause of the lump.

I have a 15 wk old pit pup I notice today she wasn't acting like she feels well. She has several things I've noticed wrong with her since I've got her at 4 weeks. I believe they r birth defects but today her belly is swollen and under her lower left
I am sorry to hear about your concerns for your puppy! I would recommend examination by a veterinarian as soon as possible if she is acting painful or lethargic. If there is a knot or swelling under the skin on the belly it is possible she could have a hernia https://www.petcoach.co/article/inguinal-umbilical-and-diaphragmatic-hernias-in-dogs/ . If the area has increased in size/looks red/is painful or hard then this is concerning and should be examined right away. Without examining your dog we cannot tell if this is the problem, just that it is a possibility.

Hi I found a puppy an he has a soft an a squishy lump right in the center of his stomach what could that be ? It doesn't seem to bother him an it doesn't hurt him when I touch it
It sounds like Sammy might have an umbilical hernia - this is a very common cause of a soft, squishy lump in the center of the belly in puppies. Depending on how large it is, it may not be anything to worry about, or it may need to be surgically repaired. It's also possible that that the lump could be a growth, an abscess, or an injury of some kind. I would recommend taking Sammy to the vet for an exam to have this checked. He/she can tell you for sure what the lump is, and whether any treatment is needed :)

My puppy has the bump in his belly and I don't know what to do! I'm just scared that she might have cancer and it might be malignant! Please help!!
You are right to be concerned - all new lumps and bumps should be evaluated thoroughly! It is a little difficult to tell from the photo, but this lump is in the location of her umbilicus, and it is suspicious for an umbilical hernia. It could also be some other type of a mass, but the only way to know for sure is to have it evaluated by your vet. Your vet can determine whether or not it is a hernia and/or take a needle sample to determine the type of cells. If it is a hernia, they can usually be routinely fixed during her spay procedure.

My 8 year old Dalmatian named bella,has a serious bump under her abdomen.It concerns me and I'm really scared for her health could it be cancer?
I'm very sorry but the only advice we can give you is to have your vet check out the lump. Lumps are usually one of the following: * cyst * abscess * tumor - could be benign or malignant * hernia Your vet will be able to give you a better idea after they examine her and feel the bump. It is not an emergency. Just get her to your vet for an exam when you can schedule the appointment.

My 14 wk French bulldog puppy has a small red lump on his belly. Doesn’t seem to be in any pain or discomfort.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This could potentially be an abscess. I would highly recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. This is usually treated with local therapy with drainage, flushing and and debridement as well as systemic antibiotics. Good luck and have a good day!

My golden Labrador has a lump under her belly she is 13
I seee that Sam is not spayed. A lump on her abdomen could be a hernia , inflamed mammary gland, cyst, abscess or, more likely, a mammary tumor or a fatty tumor. A mammary tumor can be benign or malignant or mixed. It is usually best to have it removed, i.e. have all the glands removed on the side where the tumor is. However at 13 years of age, and depending on the size of the mass, your veterinarian may decide just to do a lumpectomy. Fatty tumors are usually benign and ,, unless they cause a problem, we usually leave them alone. I suggest you have Sam examined by your veterinarian. He may want to do a biopsy of the mass, or a fine needle aspirate ( where an injection needle is inserted into the mass and cell material is aspirated and examined under the microscope). In case of a mammary tumor he will also want to do chest x-rays to make sure there are no metastases in the lungs. Abscesses and cysts can be evacuated or lanced if necessary and a hernia can be fixed surgically .
