Why is my spayed cat's belly swollen, looks pregnant, and aggressive?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 11 months and 1 day old | 16 lbs

We had our cat spayed January 24th. She has been fine up until this evening. Her lower region is swollen. She almost looks pregnant. She wont allow us to touch her lower belly she becomes agressive which is off because she was always okay with belly rubs

That sounds very odd. I would recommend getting her to the vet in the next day or two (sooner if she's not eating, is lethargic, or otherwise seems ill). It's way too late for this to be related to the spay, she would have been fully healed after 10-14 days, but it's certainly not normal.
