What is the white discharge or stuff I see on my dog's nipple?

I just noticed this white stuff on my dog nipple can you tell what it is.

Discharge from a nipple can be due to a variety of reasons, including milk production (if not spayed), a bacterial infection, a clogged duct, or another underlying issue. if it is bothering her or you are concerned, I would recommend having her evaluated by her regular veterinarian to determine if there is something that needs to be addressed.     It's possible that Lexi is pregnant, or developing a false pregnancy, or mastitis. We can also sometimes see discharge from the nipples with mammary masses (tumors). I recommend having a vet take a look at Lexi to determine what's going on. If they don't see an obvious cause with the exam alone, they may put a drop of the discharge on a slide and see if there are any cells present to indicate the underlying cause.

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Thanks for the picture. It appears to be a growth on the nipple. If it is new or has increased in size I would have it evaluated by your Vet. It could be a benign growth like a cyst or hyperplasia of the nipple or it could be a mammary tumor. Your Vet can discuss possibly aspirating it if they are concerned or removing it for biopsy. i squeezed my dogs nipple and 5 of them came out white like milk yet one has a lump in the side of it. yet when is squeezed the sixth nipple the discharge cam out brown/green mixed with white.(this nipple did not have the lump). we got the lump check
If Linda isn't pregnant or hasn't recently given birth, she shouldn't be making milk. Abnormal colors in the discharge could indicate infection or inflammation in the gland. The only way to know what a lump is caused by is to take a sample for examination under a microscope or submit a biopsy to a pathologist. I would recommend having Linda re-examined by the vet with this new information or get a second opinion.

I don't think she's pregnant her belly isn't hard and her vulva isn't sticking out but she has milk coming out of one nipple. The nipple has a hard lump in it that moves around. It isn't mastitis she doesn't have any symptoms of it. Do y'all know wha
HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! If the liquid coming from her nipple is brownish and there is a mass in the breast tissue it is likely a cystic mammary tumor. A lot of which are benign. Some breast masses in dogs are cancerous though. Usually it is recommend to spay them and remove the breast mass. Hormones play a role in the formation of the tumors. I'd get the mass checked out by your Vet and discuss removing it to biopsy. Good luck!

My chihuahua has brownish red discharge coming out of her nipple. She is about 3 to 4 years old She has 4 nipples filled Only one nipple has the red liquid the other 3 have just cloudy liquid
Hi and thanks for your request. The one with red liquid may be affected by a mastitis, which is an inflammation/infection of the mammary gland. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed. Other care recommended for the bitch may include hydration, warm compresses using towels or cabbage leaves, and frequent expression of milk from the infected gland by hand. This alleviates discomfort and swelling while also encouraging blood flow. Hand-milking should be performed every six hours. Hello. Roxy may be going through a false pregnancy, but without a hands on exam, I cannot tell you the exact nature of the discharge. You might want to have her seen by your veterinarian & if you are not planning on breeding her, consider having her spayed. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My dog has brown crusty like substance around her nipples and I’m not sure what it could be ?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use chlorhexidine containing pads (such as the Douxo chlorhexidine 3% PS pads) to clean the are twice daily for 7 days. You may find these online or at your local pet store. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good night!

Hello my dog has little black dots on her nipples and yellow discharge she's not pregnant or spayed I dont know what o should do how soon should I take her to the vet
The black dots are likely to be blackheads due to fat content in the are. The fact that nipples are producing milk may be due to a false pregnancy which is due to an hormonal imbalance. This problem is usually self limiting but if lasting more than 24 hours a check up would be required as specific medication can be prescribed.

i have a female Pomeranian her age is 8yrs, suddenly i have noticed a pimple like boil on her nipple and some puss is also coming out, can u please tell why is it happening.
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This is probably a small abscess or focus of infection. I recommend that you have her evaluated by your veterinarian. They can prescribe a topical or systemic antibiotic for her which may be enough to treat this if they agree it is an infection. Good luck!

My bitch has a lump on her 5th nipple filled with lumps that move about like marbles. They do not hurt her but pink discharge out nipple when squeezed
Hi there and thank you for using pet coach. In an older female with lumps near or associated with the nipple, I get concerned with mammary tumors. In dogs, about 50% of these can be cancerous and the rest benign. I would recommend having this looked at by your veterinarian for further testing. Your vet can insert a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under a microscope to help determine what it could be. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction.
