My 1-year-old Siberian Husky is losing hair. Is her black skin normal?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Female | unspayed | 45 lbs

My siberian husky is 1 year old and I am getting worried for several reasons. She has been losing her hair in the back and her tail, the vet told me it could be fleas and gave me pills at the begining of this month for her, I also bought her shampoo and a cream but I do not see hair growing. Maybe it doesn’t heal that quick? Other than that her skin is black and I don’t know if that is normal in Huskys. There is a picture of how her hair looks on the back

I see what you mean. When a dog loses hair, it takes time for it to grow back, up to a couple of months. Keep an eye on it, and if the hair loss gets worse, have Sky seen by a vet again. Best of luck.
