Will my cat adjust to a new apartment and still love me after moving?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 7 lbs

This is kind of an odd question but I live with family and I am looking to move out into a friends house. I have to leave my cat at home until I get my own place. I want to take him back when I get an apartment. Will it be to hard for him to adjust to all the changes? I don’t want to do anything to make him upset or uncomfortable. I feel like once I move into a friends house and then later on move him to my apartment he won’t be close to me anymore or dislike me.

Cocoa can adjust to a new home. I moved across the world from the US to New Zealand, and brought my two cats with me. That's a huge move, and they adjusted fine. Definitely take him back when you get your own place.
