My dog ate a potty pad and is struggling to vomit. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 56 lbs

My dog, Rosie, ate some of her potty pad and now she’s trying to throw it up but is struggling a little bit. She’s done this before but usually is good at throwing it back up. She is keeping water down and her tummy isn’t stiff and there is no pain there when i touch it. She is just whining and wanting the potty pad out. Is there anything i can to to help her get it out quicker (i’m giving her water hoping that will help her) or will we just have to wait until it come out on it’s own?

I would take Rosie into a vet immediately. The concern with the potty pad is that it could cause an obstruction, which would then lead to surgery. Surgery to fix that would be thousands. It's best to take her into a vet now, who can safely induce vomiting with a shot. Best of luck.

It sounds as Rosie is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an antibiotic course and a special food for a few days in order to get better.
