Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 years old | 15 lbs
Zoey is a 9 year old cavalier poodle mix. We played fletch for about an hr on Tuesday which usually lasts about 15 min any other day. Wednesday she woke up and was struggling with her home legs but still able to walk. It’s now Sunday and she is still having a difficult time. She also has episodes of panting and shaking, which only happens with her during storms and fireworks. I’m not sure what this means or what to do. She is our first dog.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Zoey. I suspect she is sore from her long session of fetch on Tuesday. She may have some underlying arthritis that has been aggravated. I recommend that she sees a veterinarian to determine if this is the case. If so, pain medication can be prescribed to keep her more comfortable. In the meantime, do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!
