My pet died suddenly. How do I cope with this overwhelming grief?

I used to have a dog named Peque, she was 9 years old, and a Chihuahua mix with a greyhound, and in December 24, 2018, she got hit by a car and instantly died. Its been a few months since it happened and I still get sad and cry. How can I find ways to cope with this?
