Why is my overweight lab's hip swollen and fluid-filled after a fall?

My 7 yr old lab slipped on floor yesterday and overnight she developed swelling over both hip region mostly on left side. She’s overweight and has fat pads but more swelling than usual. Kinda feels like there’s fluid instead of them being firm like usual. Please help! We love so! Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | unspayed | 80 lbs

It sounds like Allie has injured herself in the fall, and that likely is causing the swelling. This will be quite painful for her, so the best thing to do is take her into a vet immediately for treatment. Best of luck.
