Why is my unspayed rabbit biting and losing fur? Mites or hormones?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 4 months old

Hi there my loinhead dwarf rabbit has become a bit naughty we got her in January as a 10 week old and she had both mites and an eye infection. Immediately we took her to the vet and managed to get everything cleared up . This week I noticed a small bold patch reappeared on her shoulders , I had an appointment to take her to the vet this morning but she bit me and refused to go I’m her carrier and I was scared to stress her too much . Could the mires be back no contact with other animals or outsi

Thanks for reaching out about Snowball. She does seem to be in need of a veterinary visit again. Mites could be the problem. She is possibly aggressive because she is hormonal. She does need to be spayed also. Good luck.
