Why is there strange stuff stuck between my cat's paw pads?

I noticed strange stuff between the pads of my cats back paw, thankfully it doesn’t look like there’s any wound resulting in it but could you help me identify what it is? Pet's info: Cat | American Longhair | Female | spayed

Cats can sometimes get moist litter stuck between the pads. If Sarah goes outside, sap and tar are also possible. Try to clean and wash it off.
