Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 6 years and 10 months old | 15 lbs
7year old male cat who stopped eating 2-3 weeks ago. No vomiting or diarrhea. Took to vet 5 days ago. Has elevated bilirubin and fluctuating blood sugars from 450 down to 250. Elevated WBC’s vet gave fluids and antibiotics but cat is no better. Need another opinion. Otherwise healthy but just got over a respiratory infection. Very large cat. Was weighting 22pounds. Down to probably 15 or less niw

Poor Larry! It sounds like it’s time to move onto further diagnostics. Obviously something is wrong and it just hasn’t been discovered yet. I recommend to discuss an abdominal ultrasound with your veterinarian and possibly checking a fructosamine level to see if the blood sugars have been elevated over the past month. This will help to figure out if diabetes, pancreatitis, cancer or inflammatory bowel disease is present. I hope this gets figured out quickly.
