Should I worry about my cat's smaller urine balls on UTI meds?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Male | neutered | 16 lbs

My cat is on day 8 of Amoxicillin, 100 mg TID, for a UTI diagnosed via home sample brought to vet. He began making normal sized urine balls around day three, but today has made a couple that were slightly smaller than golf balls. He took Onsior for 4 days and has h/o Flutd. Vet wants to see him 2 wks. after finishing Abx. Should I worry about smaller urine balls?

I would keep an eye on Maverick and also make sure he is getting enough to drink to replace what he is urinating out. If he shows any other symptoms in addition to the reduce urine production, such as straining to go, pain, blood, etc, I would bring him back into your vet sooner than his next checkup.
