Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Male | neutered
Hi, I really desperately need your help as I'm freaking out and very anxious. My cat swallowed a small piece of thread (from a towel, I believe.) I know this can cause laceration and twists in the intestines; online vets recommended feeding a cat a dab of Vaseline (I have 100% Pure White Jelly, the only other ingredient is fragrance). I put a dab on his treats and just gave him some to lubricate the intestines track and hopefully help him. Now, I'm reading it might be poisonous for cats.

A small thread shouldn’t cause a problem - damage can occur when a long piece of string or thread is ingested that gets stuck along the way. Vaseline is not necessarily toxic but I wouldn’t recommend giving any more even if Leon ingests more string. Vaseline is unlikely to help move anything through the gastrointestinal tract.
