Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 3 years old | 20 lbs
Hello, a month ago my female dog was spayed. She is 3 years old jack russell x Shitzu. I check her belly everyday but today when i came home from school, I noticed this red bruise looking like patch but I am not sure what it is. When I push it together 'very gently and softly' the skin in the middle (darker colour) shrinks like a blister. Would you be able to tell me what it is please? Thank you very much. Chris.

Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Unfortunately, this sort of lesion is not something diagnosable through a picture alone. However, based on your description and the appearance, it looks and sounds like a blood blister. If this is the case, it was likely cause by some type of mild trauma, or from a previous infection. The body will typically resorb blood blisters, or, they will open on their own and resolve in time. If this is not a blood blister and is something else entirely, the area might continue to grow in size, change in color, or growth painful, hot, or inflamed. If any of those mentioned occurrence happen, you should bring Cunlee to a veterinarian at once for a thorough exam of the entire body.
