Why is my dog shaking head after eye removal surgery? Is it the cone?

Pet's info: Dog | Bulldog | Male | neutered | 32 lbs

Hello my dog had his eye removed on Monday and everything is going well according to his check up yesturday but today he keeps shaking his head but I think it could be because the cone collar is pressing against his ears .do you think I'm right ? Thank you .

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Head shaking is usually a signs of itchy ears, which may be due to the E-collar rubbing or pressing on them. If your veterinarian checked him yesterday and did not see or smell any ear infections, it is most likely the cone collar causing his head shaking. Obviously the cone is necessary while his incision is healing, so I recommend monitoring him at home. If the shaking becomes incessant or aggressive, I recommend contacting your veterinarian directly to see if he needs to be examined again. I hope this is helpful!
