My 17-year-old cat has a hard brown spot on his nose. What is it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 17 years old

Is it an infection on my cat s nose? He does not go outside so it s not a tick. I think my other cat scratch his nose . I can see on the top a little cut. It s kind of brown and hard. Don’t want to touch it and hurt him plus he is a 17 year old guy .

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Marbles. That looks like it could be a growth of some sorts on his nose, not an infection. This is something that should be checked out by a vet, and I would take him into one in the morning. Best of luck, I hope this helps.
