Is my dog's spleen surgery incision infected? She's pink & lazy.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pit Bull Terrier | Female | unspayed

Hi my dog had her spleen removed because of a tumor (we almost lost her) and it’s been 3 weeks but now is starting to look overly pink and she’s been super lazy all day which isn’t like her. I’ve contacted my vet also but am impatient waiting for their call back. If it’s infected what can I do to help her. Also I had my flash on when I took the picture so it isn’t that “bright” in person

Thank you for providing a picture of Maci's incision. It doesn't look infected to me, and it looks like it's healing well. If you had the flash on, that may affect the appearance in the picture, but to me it looks good. If you are concerned it's infected, then you need to take her into a vet now to get it treated. Best of luck.
