My dog's neuter stitches look split after surgery. Should I see a vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | neutered | 1 year and 11 months old | 75 lbs

My dog of 2 years old just got neutered yesterday he hasn’t tried to bite the incesion or anything the only time he’s had his cone off is to eat and chew his bone he’s very hyper and was trying to run around the house the stitches look split open almost? I’m not sure so I was just curious if I should see a vet or just let it heal

The wound margins still look normal and the wound seems still ok at this stage. I would recommend to have the collar back on and keep it on. At this stage a vet check up is not strictly needed.
