Why does my cat with 3 fangs keep throwing up undigested food?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Russian Blue | Male | 2 years and 8 months old

My cat only has 3 fangs and when he eats his food he either chokes and throws up or eats then throws up. And when he does it looks like whole pieces. It doesn’t happen all the time but enough to wanna ask what to do.

Have Jack checked out by a vet. He will not be using his canines to chew his cat food, that's the job of the molars and pre-molars, so if he's eating a dry cat food, the lack of a canine tooth won't be contributing to the vomiting. It could be he is eating too quickly or he could have an illness causing the vomiting. Please give his vet a call to make him an appointment. Best of luck.
