My cat was exposed to FIP. Can Moducare really help prevent it?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 9 lbs

One of my two cats died from FIP ten days ago. My second cat Yma has 1:1600 antibodies for fecv, which the vet says is not abnormal and she believes Yma's odds of developing FIP are still low. I'm naturally petrified to lose my other love--I'm still devastated by the loss of my other cat. Someone told me to give her Moducare to boost her immune system. Is this snake oil, or could it actually help?

Hello. Moducare is a nutritional supplement purported to balance the immune system. Positive results of using this in various disease conditions/states is variable, but it has been used in FIP positive cats. There is no harm in trying this. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
