My puppy was bit by another dog but seems fine. What should I do?

Poor Chico! I'm very sorry he was bit. If he can move it and it doesn't hurt to touch him, he may have been startled by the bite more than anything. I would have him seen by a vet in the morning for a health check to be safe, however. If he can't move it and/or it hurts for him to be touched, I would take him into a vet right away.

The bump is probably swollen tissue, as he was bitten by another dog there is very high chances of him developing a bad infection from the bite wound, you will need to take him to the vet ASAP in order to get the wound checked and he will need a course of antibiotics in order to get better.

This does look like an infection and ideally you should take your dog to a veterinarian for an exam and medication against pain and infection. You can try to bathe the foot in very warm epsom salt solution for 10 minutes three times daily which may help the infection or the abscess to ripen, open up and evacuate any untoward infectious material. If the paw does not improve within two to three days or if the paw gets worse you will need to take Chance to your vet.

It depends on how deep the bites are and how severe they are. Dog bites frequently become infected, and are painful. It's best to take Storm into a vet now. If the neighbor's dog bit him unprovoked, they should help pay for the veterinary care.

There can be significant soft tissue injury that you cannot see, and a wound that looks like a small puncture can actually have deep pocketing and tissue damage. Also, dog bite wounds are very prone to becoming infected, as the bacteria in a dog's mouth can infect your dog's skin and prevent the wounds from healing. Your veterinarian will likely want to sedate Darby so he/she can clip the hair around the wounds and clean them out. Based on Darby's physical exam, your veterinarian may also recommend x-rays to look for evidence of other trauma, such as lung contusions (bruises) or fractures. Hi! I am so sorry to hear that Roscoe is injured! The wound appears to be inflamed and as dog bites or any deep wound often become infected. I recommend taking him to your vet in the next 24 hours, sooner if he seems to feel poorly or if he has other wounds. They will likely clip the hair, clean the wound and see how extensive it is. If they think it necessary, they will recommend antibiotics and/or pain/swelling medication. Keep an eye on it after you visit to ensure it heals appropriately and he does not lick at it. Have Luna seen by a vet now. There could be internal injures from being bit by the pitbull, and only a vet can diagnose that. In addition, dog bites frequently become infected, and oral antibiotics are needed to prevent an infection. It's very important though to have her seen by a vet right away to make sure she doesn't have internal injuries, so that is what I think you should do. Take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Any dog bite needs to be checked by a vet immediately and needs to be treated with antibiotic to prevent any infection from occurring. Post bites infections are extremely common if antibiotics are not take, I would recommend taking Moly to the vet ASAP.

Hi, poor Kookie ! You should clean his wounds with lots of saline solution or sterilised water and you might need to see your vet if they discharge a lot over the next few days. This provided your dog is vaccinated against Rabies, if he is not you should see your vet ASAP.
