My chihuahua has a right ruptured cranial crucial to ligament. Will he automatically have to have surgery? Pet's info: Dog | Chihuahua (Smooth Coat) | Male | 13 lbs

The best treatment is surgery. There are some dogs that may respond ok to rest and pain medications or a brace (mypetsbrace.com) but in the end most do best from surgery.
