My dog with hepatic encephalopathy seems lost. Can I give lactulose?

My dog shows signs of hepatic encephalopathy. Last night we went to the vet, and he was placed on IV. The IVs were competed a few hours ago at home, but for the past few hours (even when he was on IV) he seems lost. Should I try giving him lactulose for tonight? Will this help him at all? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 11 years and 1 month old | 35 lbs

I'm so sorry Bronco isn't doing well! Without seeing him in person, it's illegal for me to recommend giving him any medication. Speak to the vet who is treating him to see if lactulose will be ok to give him.
