Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | 3 years and 3 months old

Vet prescribed this but i am asking personally Is Augmentin 625mg once daily enough to treat pyoderma in dogs also does this medicine safe for kidneys as well ? Taking this medicine can increase creatinine level also ? Because he don't have any kidney problem but i am worried if I give this Augmentin 625mg to him it will gonna make his kidneys bad so what should I do ?? Also does augmentin helps in curing pyoderma of dog ?

Hello, and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Yes, this is a common antibiotic used in dogs for a variety of infections. I prescribe it routinely in my patients! I recommend giving it according to your vet's recommendations. The specific mg dose will be determined according to your dog's weight, and without that information I can't verify the specific dose - but I do not worry about this medication harming the kidneys. Hope this helps!
