My puppy has a swollen face. Will a possible fracture heal on its own?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | unspayed | 12 lbs

Hi I recently took my corgi puppy to a veterinary hospital for her swollen muzzle she’s been sleeping with her tongue out of her mouth and yells if you touch her face the vet out her under and checked her mouth and took an X-ray but couldn’t find anything they said it could be a small fracture and sent me home with soft food and an anti inflammatory/ pain reliever I’m just curious your opinion will it heal fine on it’s own ? I sent you a before and after pic obviously you can see how swollen

Poor Lily! If it is a small fracture, those do typically heal ok on their own. Feed her the soft food and give her medication as prescribed. If this doesn't help, I would take her back into the vet. She is so cute!
