Why is my old male dog constipated, lethargic, and missing a testicle?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | 6 years and 11 months old | 30 lbs

I have a male dog his name is Bruno and hes a very old dog . He gets constipated alot ! I'm not sure if he got hurt or if it's where he's constipated but the last couple of days all he has been doing is laying around and not communicating like he normally does . I also have another question . He has one ball and I'm not sure if it's his other ball in his stomach or if it's something else .

Bruno could be a crytorchid, which means his testicle never descended. It could be in his abdomen. Given that he's not neutered, he could be having prostate problems causing constipation. If his prostate is enlarged, this could give him problems trying to pass feces. I'd take him into the vet in the morning to have this checked out. If he does have a problem with his prostate, neutering is part of the recommended treatment. Best of luck.
