Will rehoming my shy, attached dog cause her trauma or stress?

I have a dog that I think I need to let go of. She is about 3 yr old and very shy and attached to me. Would giving her to a new owner be traumatic for her? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | spayed | 2 years and 8 months old | 11 lbs

Hello. It may be, but you need to do what is right for you. If you can find a kind & patient individual to adopt Olivia, she may do fine. Many shelters & humane societies will work with foster homes to hopefully keep Olivia out of a more stressful shelter situation. But do try to keep Olivia with you as best you can.
