Poor pup! That area is very inflamed and may be infected. Keep the dogs separated and make sure your dog wears his elizabethan collar at all times. Get him seen by his veterinarian within the next 24 hours as he may need antibiotics. Make sure to keep him from any activity as well such as running or jumping.     Hello. If you have a Petco or other animal supply store near you, take your pet in to see if they can fit him with a more suitable collar. He probably needs a longer one. Once you are sure he can no longer lick or bite the area, you can apply a very thin layer of antibiotic ointment (neosporin) to the area 2-3 times a day...but only if he cannot lick it.
