Is flea knockout spray safe for my puppy and home despite warnings?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Pembroke Welsh Corgi | Female | spayed | 2 months and 16 days old | 25 lbs

My vet gave me knockout spray to treat my house and car just in case because we just started my puppy on revolution. They said it’s perfectly safe to use even with the dog around but when you read the can, it sounds like the stuff is poisonous and you need exterminators to spray your house with it. Is this stuff safe to use or what? I don’t want to hurt my day or myself...the warnings on this thing sound like you’re going to cause cancer to everything.

You can safely use it, just keep Mia out of the room where you use it until the product is dry. I would have her visit a friend while you treat your house and car, and once it's dry, you can take her home.
