Why does my dog separate one puppy and keep bringing it to my bed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Pinscher | Female | unspayed | 2 years and 4 months old

My dog had 7 puppies and they’re 4 weeks now. And i noticed there’s this one specific puppy that she separates from the group and she brings it on my bed. When i put the puppy back to their crib she takes it again to my bed. And when we take that puppy from her so she can’t carry her around the house she cries and panics. Why is she like that?what does that mean?

Sometimes mamas will separate a puppy that is not doing well, so if this puppy seems smaller than the others or isn’t eating as well I’d recommend having it examined by your vet. It could also be a behavior quirk of hers, sonif the puppy seems normal otherwise I wouldn’t worry too much.
