Why is my partner's dog aggressive and territorial towards me?

My partner of 6 months has a very wonderful mutt, but he is very territorial and protective of her. Tonight I sat next to my girl on the couch and he growled aggressively and went for my face. He did not bite but his snout made contact with my face. I’m scared and she’s confused. Any advice? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 5 years and 2 months old | 45 lbs

Your girlfriend needs to get Bob into training immediately. He is a risk for you and other people. He could really harm someone. Have her speak to his vet about a referral to a professional behavioral expert.
