Why is my dog suddenly aggressive and barking at people on walks?

My dog barks at almost everyone when we are on the walk. He used to be very active but almost never barked at people but few months ago he became way aggressive. What should I do? Pet's info: Dog | English Cocker Spaniel | Male | 1 year old | 27 lbs
