Make sure the plant leaves he was eating were not toxic. Some dogs will eat grass and plants in an effort to "self medicate" or induce vomiting. The dry nose is not clinically significant. Most dogs are lactose intolerant, so giving milk may have further upset his stomach. If he is behaving normally otherwise, try withholding all food for 24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or an unflavored Dioralyte (confirm it does not contain xylitol) during the fast. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. begin with 1 tablespoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount if there is no vomiting. Feed bland until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to Harry's regular dog food. You can warm the food slightly or mix in warm water to stimulate his appetite. Symptoms that you should monitor for include: lethargy, persistent or worsening vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, ataxia (wobbly gait) or abdominal pain. Should Harry develop any of these, he will need to be physically examined by your veterinarian.
