Dog stitches removed, raw spot. Should I be concerned about e-collar?

Charlie’s stitches were removed yesterday and there seems to be a “raw” area in the middle that is red. The vet tech said it was normal and to leave the e-collar on for another day. It doesn’t seem to improve. How long should I leave the e-collar on and should I be concerned? Pet's info: Dog | Dachshund miniature | Male | neutered | 11 months and 13 days old | 12 lbs

I see what you mean about that area. I would leave the cone on for another 24 hours and if it still looks this way after that time, then I would be concerned and have him seen by his vet. I hope this helps.
