My cat's old neck hair loss patch is now bigger and bleeding. Why?

My cat had has had a tiny patch (about the size of a dime) of hair missing from his neck for years. Our veterinarian said it was nothing to worry about. Well about a month ago I noticed it getting much bigger and there was dried blood in it..

Poor Ozzie! Since the area is changing without any obvious cause, I recommend to have him checked by his veterinarian. It’s unusual for a quiet lesion to suddenly flare up. It’s possible this is coincidental however and your veterinarian may be suspicious of something like fleas or allergies. Best of luck and please feel free to post any additional questions.
