Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 15 years and 5 months old | 13 lbs
Hello, my cat is very, very sick now. The vet couldn't be sure if it's a tumour or an abscess at the base of his skull. He gave a general long lasting antibiotic injection 3 nights ago , but no change. I need to know if my cat can take daily oral antibiotics alongside the injection. He's very sick now and in pain, I'd like to give him a last chance of antibiotics before I have to have him put down. Thank you

Hi, sorry to hear that Lopey is poorly. He could have a different antibiotic to the one he has received already, even if long lasting with certain conditions we commonly give 2 antibiotics at the same time. At this stage I would probably choose to prescribe clindamycin such as Zodon liquid suspension. This formulation would be easy to administer to Lopey in his mouth or in his food. Ask your vet to write a prescription for it, hope this helps.
