Nothing over the counter, I'm afraid. The only safe medications for a dog's eye is from the vet. Any eye problem needs to be checked out by a vet promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. I would take The Coach into the vet in the morning. Best of luck.

    Thank you for submitting your question regarding Zangeer. If he has lost his sight in just a matter of hours, this is worrisome. He needs to see a veterinarian right away. He could have a corneal ulcer or scratch across the surface of his eyes, there could be bleeding within the eye, glaucoma or a bad infection. All of these issues would require treatment.     It could be Aura has injured his eye or has an eye infection. Any eye problem is considered an emergency because leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take him into a vet now to have this treated. Best of luck.

From your description and the pictures, this may be an eye infection, trauma to the eye or allergies. Terramycin ophthalmic ointment is one antibiotic ointment that we do use to treat eye infections. I would say that this is safe to use but if the eye is worsening or is no better during or after the course of treatment, I would recommend having Pat examined by a veterinarian. My dog has redness in his right eye and a silver dot on it also like it got scratched . It don’t really discharge just a tiny bit. Is there anyway I can treat it. I think it was a scratch from a play fight.
Eyes are very delicate organs. If there is an injury it is always best to have your vet check it. Eye injuries can go from bad to worse quickly and then you risk losing vision and/or the eye itself. I have not seen the eye so it's hard to give advice. It is up to you though what you want to do. If you want to try something at home you can try this eye gel. If no improvement after a couple days of treatment then he needs to see the vet. I would use it 3-4 times per day. How can I treat my dogs eye at home until I can get into a vet? I called thr local vet today and they are all booked up.
At best, you can use a warm washcloth to keep the eye clear of discharge and place an e-collar on him to prevent pawing or rubbing. There are no OTC medications you can use and treatment would not be recommended without a diagnosis. If you can't get in to see your veterinarian, consider a visit to the local veterinary ER. It may cost more, but potential eye infections or injuries should be diagnosed and treated as soon as possible.

My Dog Won't Keep His Left Eye Open, Should I Worry?
Poor pup! If he's keeping the eye closed or if the [eye is red](https://www.petcoach.co/article/why-are-my-dogs-eyes-red) and there's discharge coming from it, it's likely that he either has an [eye infection](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/conjunctivitis/) or an injury of some kind to the eye, such as a corneal scratch or ulcer. I would recommend having him examined by a vet or [veterinary ophthalmologist](https://www.acvo.org/) as soon as you can, since he will may prescription eye drops to treat the problem. Eyes are delicate, so the sooner he gets an exam and proper medication, the better - some problems can cause permanent damage or vision loss if they aren't treated promptly.

I noticed my 5 month old GSD has a redness in her left eye, on her inner lower lid. I'm thinking she scratched it doing what puppies do. Does she need to be seen or could I just put ointment or something on it.
Unfortunately, there are no home remedies or over the counter eye medications that are safe or effective to manage eye injuries. Charlie may have some inflammation in her eye from irritation or may have scratched the cornea, causing a corneal ulcer. Regardless, she should be examined by her vet. The vet will be able to perform a fluorescein stain of her eye to check for signs of an ulcer/scratch and will then be able to prescribe appropriate medication. Keep an e-collar (cone) on Charlie as her eye heals to prevent her from scratching or rubbing it, as this could make any injury much worse. I hope that she's on the mend soon!

Can I use the pazeo.eye drops for my dog for he can hardly open his eyes
No, I would not use this on Snowy, it's not safe. This is for itchy eyes due to allergies, and it could be that he has an eye infection, which makes it a completely inappropriate medication. You should never try to self treat eye problems, as you could accidentally do serious damage to the eye. I would take him into the vet today. The vet can diagnose what is causing his problem with his eyes, and can treat him. It's important to have any eye problem checked out and treated promptly, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Best of luck, I hope this helps.

My dog he has red in he's eyes
Ouch! The diagnosis will depend on where in the eye that he is red. The eyelids and conjunctiva can get red with allergies, foreign object or corneal ulcer. The white part (sclera) can get red secondary to trauma or diseases such as glaucoma. The inside of the eye can get red with high blood pressure or coagulopathy ( bleeding problem). The best thing for him would be an exam by a veterinarian. They can do some diagnostics to Check eye pressures, tear levels and check for ulcers. Over night around my dogs eye is red and puffy
It sounds like Oliver is either having an allergic reaction or is beginning to get an eye infection. You could give him an over the counter antihistamine. Also make sure Oliver is not rubbing his eyes as this will make the condition worse. If they are remaining inflamed, I would take him into the veterinarian to get him checked out. My lab's eyes have been red for two days now but no signs of discomfort, what should I do?
You need to take Eva into the vet first thing in the morning. It’s not normal her eyes are red, and any eye problem needs to be checked out immediately. Leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. Best of luck.
