Why is my dog only eating bones, not food, and losing weight?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Siberian Husky | Male | unneutered | 12 lbs

Rocky is begining to reject food and hes not eating as much as he used to. Im struggling to find anything which he wants to eat. Im begining to worry and he is in my view becoming skinnier(slightly) - the only thing he eats constantly now is bones but anything else is rejected (all kind of meat - not even kibble) - maybe he just doesn't as much food anymore but hes eating once per day now. Maybe the bones fill him up - they are large size - and he cant eat anymore. What do you advise?

I would recommend making an appointment to see your vet - I would worry that Rocky might have a medical condition causing his lack of interest in food and weight loss. The possibilities would vary depending on his age, but kidney disease, liver disease or inflammatory bowel disease would be a few possibilities.
