Allie recently passed. Diagnose was from liver failure. She had a very enlarged liver. They also found dark frank blood when putting a needle into her abdomen. The X-ray showed the liver. What could have caused the dark blood in the abdomen? Could it have been a bad physical injury? Or would it have to be an internal issue involving something like a tumor. If it was spleen or organ rupturing or leaking would that be seen on an x Ray. Only the liver was mentioned. no symptoms before it happe

X-rays are best for showing bones, organs show up as grey areas and same with fluid. It would not show definitively an organ leaking or that had ruptured. If the spleen had ruptured, you would see a big area of grey through the abdomen indicating the blood. The x-ray can show an enlarged liver, and the blood could be from that. If Allie has sustained a bad physical injury, you would see other signs of it including lethargy, anorexia, and bruising on her skin. I'm sorry for your loss.
