My dog won't eat or drink and is having difficulty pooping. What is wrong with him?

Poor Murphy! I'm sorry to hear that he's having this problem. He may be constipated due to hard, dry stool; or, he may have some type of blockage in his colon causing him to be unable to poop. Since he is also not eating or drinking, I would recommend taking him to an emergency vet today to be seen rather than attempting any kind of home remedies for this problem. The veterinarian there can do a rectal exam to help determine what the problem is, and can get him started on appropriate treatment depending on what is found.
