My male cats are crazy for outdoor females. How can I calm them?

It's spring time and all the neighborhood is full of outside female and male cats,making loud sounds,all the people keep their cats only out,I'm the only one who live with my cats inside and now my both male cats are like crazy,when I keep them inside they cry all the time jumping on the doors and windows,and don't want to eat,if I let them out they try to escape, searching for females,any advice how can I calm them down just a little to make them happier, I feel awful to watch them so unhappy?

Frankly, getting them neutered will make all of you much happier. They won't worry about getting out and trying to find a mate, they will be calmer and more content and won't keep you awake all the time with their attempts to escape. It also reduces the scent of the litterbox, as the testosterone contributes to the strong odor of male cat urine, and they will be healthier for being calmer and quieter. It will not harm their personality or make them lazy and fat.
