My cat's gums are red. Is it gingivitis, and will brushing help?

May be darker cos of lightning but is this signs of gingivitis? On closer look there's like a thin red ring tad darker than rest like circled. But no abrasions. I've been brushing his teeth daily and order dental water. It was lot clearer normal pink but stopped cause he bit me bad had wait to heal think that's why redness back. Will continued brushing and dental water clear it up again?

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Tora. I recommend that he sees his veterinarian. He will need to be anesthetized to have his mouth properly evaluated. The gingivitis present along his gumline is significant and there is a chance that tooth would need to be extracted. This can only be determined under anesthesia. His mouth is likely painful which could be why he bit you. Brushing is great once the mouth is cleaned and the gumline is healthy again. I hope this information helps!
